Prom dresses are quite expensive usually you can spend about 400 to 600 dollars on a dress for prom or more. Some girls at times dont have the money to buy a pair of shoes or a formal dress for prom so they decide not to go.The ones who decide to go spend a lot of money on there dress, shoes , hair and also make-up . A teacher at Forsyth Satellite named Matthew Toscano reached out to a place that had donated dresses to another school he wanted to know if they can do the same with his school. The students at his school have been taken them and working with another teacher witch is the art teacher to make changes and put their styles into it.
Natasha Kates a student at Forsyth Satellite was one of the students that took a prom dress and styled it at her style. She was asked two questions about the prom dresses that were donated. How do you feel about the school donating the prom dresses? “Natasha says I think its cool that someone donated dresses to us as a school and even though there are not all pretty we can make our alterations to them.” Also she was asked What is she planning to do with the dress you chose to take home? Based on her plan Natasha wants to “ The plans I made for my dress is to make the skirt high to low with a black lace as the outside with a black lace sleeve you can never have too much lace.”
In a article it says that Between hair and makeup, outfits, tickets and rides to prom, teens are spending an average of more than $600 on prom. That's why it was a good idea to donate those dresses. In conclusion, expenses on prom are very expensive sometimes girl cant afford the expenses so they don't go to prom. The idea of donation prom dresses was a very great idea even though some dresses weren't so beautiful it didn't matter the students fixed them according to their style .
