NICKI MINAJ’S NEW EPIC VISUALS

Last month, when the internet was somehow a less insane place, Nicki Minaj took charge of online conversations when she appeared as a guest on Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show. The Queens native discussed her relationship with Cardi B + Drake and Meek Mill's infamous beef, and an upcoming world tour. She also released two new tracks with "Chun-Li" and "Barbie Tingz." The songs stirred speculation of a new album which has been speculating for quite sometime now, which she later confirmed without giving specifics. “I wanna say, I’ve been reading your tweets. I’m glad you love the records," she said. "I feed off of your energy and I love you. Without you, I didn’t know if I would’ve put out another album.” Referring to her fans reactions also known as The Kingdom.

The “Chun-Li” clip, features a dramatic, black-and-white exposition with Japanese subtitles. Eventually, it launches into a dense sequence featuring Minaj donning different futuristic and surreal costumes, with some choreographic support from a cage full of dancers. The clip for “Barbie Tingz” features a similarly ambitious wardrobe, featuring Minaj outfitted like a marionette, doll, and 18th century noblewoman at a masquerade ball. There’s a crew of men in tuxedos and other backing dancers, plus a guy on stilts. It's likely a visual representation of Minaj's recent comments on how she feels the media and Twitter trolls are trying to manipulate her public image and actions.

I did get a chance to interview some of my fellow kingdom members at met gala were all of them were still overhyped over the stunning visuals Angel Sinclair quoted “The visuals are beyond next level”, Tommy Baxter also quoted “This is such a monumental way to bring in the new era”, also Ashley Love Quoted “these are such creative visuals” while the rest including me are patiently awaiting for her 4th studio album but loving the albums rollout.
