Coachella is a music and art festival held every year in California. It has taken place in April every year since 1999 and it’s one of the most famous festivals in the world, but it’s extremely expensive.
A hotel in California near the Coachella festival is around $1,000 for three nights. A plane ticket to California is around $200 - 1,000. A ticket to the festival is $500 - 1,000. And the cost of ubers, shuttles, and food is around $200 - 500, maybe more depending on the person. Yes, if you go with a lot of friends it’s a little cheaper, but for a person who has a small group of friends it will definitely cost more.
OC Weekly a news, culture, and entertainment magazine, interviewed a couple of different people who went to Coachella and they all said they started saving up for Coachella a while before. One women said she had to work three jobs.“Fechser said that festivals range in price and for Coachella she tries to budget by camping and grocery shopping at Costco beforehand.” this shows how someone is trying to budget and save for the event.

I believe Coachella isn’t worth the stress and the money. Even though i have never been, I have seen a lot of youtube videos and lots of people stress. Some may say it’s worth it because they have fun. But I think otherwise because you can have fun at any festival for cheaper and sometime even free.
I asked my cousin Jocelyn a couple of questions about how she felt about Coachella’s prices and she 100 percent agreed with me. “I would love to go to Coachella but I think the prices are crazy.”
Most worry about Coachella, when there are many festivals near us in New York City, for example, Governors Ball, Hot 97 Summer Jam, Northside Festival and many more.
