According To Dictionary.com “Sport” is defined as an athletic activity requiring skill or physical prowess and often of a competitive nature, as racing, baseball, tennis, golf, bowling, wrestling, boxing, hunting, fishing, etc
Olympic Committee recognizes Video games as a sport. Video Games may be a category in the 2024 Olympics.
According to a poll taken by the author, 4 people agree that video games should been seen as a sport. While 1 person does not agree.
Forsyth Teacher Chris said, “Its a competition, it takes hand-eye coordination, it takes practice, and it takes skill just like any other sport.”
According to Intake Coordinator Mike, “ It should be a sport because people put a lot of time and energy into it.”
Forsyth Principal Patrick says, “ there is definitely skill involved in playing video games and while the level of physical exertion is not say as high as soccer, or football, or basketball there is still some physical exertion going on.”
Forsyth Teacher Aaron Argues, “ If it were a sport there would be a seperate arena just for them, just like how there are basketball football and baseball stadiums.”
Personally i think it is a sport and though some may argue that sitting on your butt is not a sport. I for one think that's not entirely true because in 2000 chess was also recognized as sport by the olympic committee. Chess, just like video games you sit down and strategically play against competition.
