On April 18th, Saturday Night Live officially announced their final line up of season 43 with host Tina Fey and musical guest Nicki Minaj closing out the season. According to Billboard, “This would be Fey’s 6th time hosting and Minaj’s 3rd time as a musical guest.”
Personal experience
So as everyone may know, I’m a huge Nicki Minaj fan. When SNL made their official announcement I knew SNL was filmed in NYC and I knew I had to go. Me and my friends from the fan base came up with a plan to camp out for 69+ hours for chances to get tickets to this highly anticipated finale. It was really bad weather leading up to the show. Due to that, we had to campout in the rain. We made homemade tents out of tarp and barricade and made signs to promote the show. The time flew by and was actually enjoyable. 7am the day of the show, NBC studios handed out the standby tickets. I successfully got the 2nd ticket out of 300 tickets handed out. I went home in excitement and relief that i may be able to see the show in person. I went back home and slept the whole entire day, woke up late evening, got ready and headed back to Rockefeller Center. 10:45 pm that's when arrival had to be, we lined up in the same order as camped out. I successfully got in and was front row.

Nicki Minaj had 2 performance slots for SNL. The first slot was for her lead single Chun Li off her upcoming album Queen, which was a very cinematic performance. The second slot she brought out a special guest Playboi Carti to perform there duet Poke It Out.
After the show she threw a after party at Highline Ballroom but before she arrived, She stopped at the NBC let out to talk to me and a couple of other fans. She told us to meet her at the club to celebrate which we did and we actually threw a block party for all the underage fans that couldn't be let in the club. The night was so magical and unforgettable. Page Six actually made a article about us LOL.
