Signs that you can be in a toxic relationship

At some point everybody ends up in love and the same stages happen every time, everything starts good, they feel like nothing can break them apart from that person and then everything is over and they have no clue about what went wrong.

There's a lot of victims of toxic relationships and they’re not even aware of it. What is a toxic relationship? Well, is a relationship that is not benefiting in any way, that takes away your mental health and keeps you from being yourself. Victims of toxic relationships most of the time stay in it because they feel pressure or guiltiness and many just don't notice the signs of it.

Not taking responsibility for their mistakes and controlling your opinion is one of the main signs. When there's arguments they always think they’re right and make you believe you’re wrong, even if you are obviously not. In a normal relationship the two of you should take charge of your actions, and not be afraid of expressing your opinion.

According to Melanie Curtin, a writer and activist, one of the many signs is feeling like you have to ask for permission, for example, “if you feel like you need permission to make plans with friends, or find yourself feeling uncomfortable about making simple choices without "seeing if it's OK" with your significant other, there's something wrong.” Trust and communication is essential in a healthy relationship, if your partner cant trust you around other people then you should be worried.

Based on some interviews a high school student named Karla stated that, “ In one of my past relationships, my boyfriend always wanted to know where i was , he would get paranoid if I didn't text him back in less than five minutes and I had to send him a picture of my outfit every morning before going to school, to check for his approval.” This is a really good example that your partner might be self conscious, and therefore doesn't let you be yourself.
