WHAT DOES LOVE LOOK LIKE IN TODAY’S SOCIETY

Love in today’s generation lost its definition, and true meaning. It doesn’t hold the same weight it used to. Young people are finding love interest based on looks rather personality and aren't taking the time to get to know each other. Many of teens today don’t want a relationship but still want someone to spend time with, which can leave people hurt why waste your time or anybody else’s. These generations approach to love left me not wanting to make it a big part in my life.

Meaningful gestures, love letters, are long gone. Forthsyth social worker Shana Louallen thinks, “ people find it easier to meet on social media these days’’ Essential time has been replaced with heart eyes emojis and superficial conversations through social media

According to Forsyth student Alexis, “I don’t believe in Netflix and chill because it eliminates the part of making a connection in dating.” many relationships are short termed today beacause teens falling in love often take the time to form a real connection and go from the love bird stage to just not being together.

There’s no dating and getting to know someone on a deeper level. There’s not much genuine curiosity about whom a person really is. But there’s plenty of other activities that involve Netflix and a bed though. Because liking a pic and commenting heart eyes will definitely get you a girlfriend/boyfriend or simply get labeled as thirsty.”- The odysseyonline.com —— I agree with this quote because I feel that exactly was missing is the deeper level and everything in today’s love is surface level.

Forsyth student Natasha states, “Be friends first,” when asked about how to find love in today’s society. A lot of people are now taking the friend zoning aproach to make sure they have a genuine connection.
