Does the MTA affect kids today that go to high school?

The MTA has been a struggle for all ages throughout the years. Especially for teenagers that go to high school, there are some that have turned back and didn't go to school because there were delays on the train. Waking up at 7 o'clock in the morning to get to school really late such as 10:45.

When asked if the trains impact high school students, one student that attends Forsyth Satellite Joanne Tang said, “I think so, cause we rely on the MTA to go to school. Depending on how they run is how fast or how well can we go to a place on time.”

When asked if the trains impact high school students, Forsyth teacher Matt Toscano, “Yes, because you get so frustrated it discourages you from going there.” When asked which trains have the most problems, Matt said, “I think all trains have problems, but the F probably has the most. What trains have problems, they should give better updates, clean up the tracks, working on fixing and upgrading them because they’re a hundred years old.”

According to Masstransitmag.com, NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer stated, “We have to re-imagine bus service for the 21st century… We need the bus lanes. We need new routes and better off-peak service to deal with the changing economy in Queens and other places. And you need better technology and enforcement to get these buses running on time and in a much more robust way."

The phone app Transit tells you about the delays that trains are having and ways to get to places, but sometimes they are inaccurate. It will say the train is 5 minutes away and it is not. It will tell you the fastest way to get to a place. In my opinion, I wouldn’t download it because it’s very inaccurate and it takes up a lot gigabytes on my phone.

Even though MTA has many delays, it has helped many people to get to where they need to get to. The MTA has gone city wide and positively impacts people from students to parents to teachers.
