Colors have an impact on the way that we feel, and that is why we have favorite colors that make us feel good. There are many perspectives on colors depending on our upbringings, culture, and background. However, research has found that some colors often impact moods and people from different places still react in similar ways to colors.
According to an article in Verywellmind.com, “researchers and experts have made a few important discoveries and observations about the psychology of color and the effect it has on moods, feelings, and behaviors.”
Studies show how color can affect human behaviors. To reduce street violence and to improve everyone's health, cities are now replacing street lights to more cool tone lightings.
A spokesman of Central Nippon Expressway Co. said, “(The illumination was introduced) as part of our efforts to encourage people to drive safely by instinctively and emotionally appealing to them to calm down.”

In a survey at Forsyth Satellite Academy people were asked to look at red, blue, pink, green and yellow. They were then asked what the colors made them feel. Most people responded:
Red: Exciting, happy, warm
Blue: cool, calm, relaxed
Yellow: bright, happy, chilled
Green: awake, excited, energized
Pink: Annoyed, Bored, feminine/babyish
Humans all ages and cultures have color preferences. In other color research many people see these colors and feel similar emotions. Pink was not seen the same way by studies done elsewhere. When I asked Katherine how she feels about the color pink she said happy, but compared to Jessica she feels annoyed by the color. This difference on how they feel towards the same color shows that it is not always accurate to depend on colors to manage your emotions.
