Metal detectors criminalize NYC students

A large number of a schools all over new york utilize metal detectors as a form of precaution against the use of weapons, criminalizing many blameless individuals and enforcing an uncomfortable environment for many students.

The city argues that metal detectors make a safer environment. The rate of violent altercations went down by 20% when the city started performing undeclared check ups, in which they randomly show up to schools all over new york and set up metal detectors. Dangerous instruments like firearms, knives, box cutters, and drug related objects have been found and confiscated.

School should be a safe comfortable environment for students everywhere, although not many agree with how to reach this goal at least everyone has the same goal.
