Weed affects relationships. Marijuana use can impact the relationships people have with their family and friends in different ways. If marijuana use doesn't disappear or decrease a great deal it can possibly lead to negative outcomes.
According to psychotherapist Stacey Gorlicky, weed users “ they associate more with a clique of other addicts trapped in the same habit of pot smoking.” Weed users are gaining more friends who indulge in Weed smoking because it guarantees a frequent high. Although it also guarantee an on going addiction. In an interview with Alex Jones former weed smoker, she says peer pressure is what led her to weed dependency; her friends kept asking her to smoke with them and she did. Alex started smoking at seventeen years old. Alex was smoking weed everywhere: rented cabs, friends homes , parks, clubs and lounges. The type of weed being smoked by alex was Hydro , chocolate and pellet. Jones smoked with friends , drug dealers . Jones and friends would break weed up with fingers place it in dutch cigar then rolled. After jones started smoking she started having many friends who smoke the friendship would start off as “ you smoke”? The friendship was created off of the fact that both people are dependent on weed. Alex even disappointed her mother by smoking. Jones also smoked a few times while pregnant.
In an interview with Air force Amy a high school student she became dependent on weed as a result of just wanting to try it. Amy started smoking at fourteen years old. Amy would smoke in her house, in backyard on a bench. Amy would smoke with her cousins. Air Force states that smoking doesn't affect her and her family. Furthermore, she says smoking makes her and her friends closer it makes them vent to each other.
Some people claim weed dependency doesn't affect their relationships and some claims it does. If some people are in denial about how weed affects them then the topic will always remain controversial. According to Alex and Amy weed smoking affects people and the relationships they have with their family differently.
