Most students at Forsyth Satellite High School are late to school everyday. Being late to school everyday negatively impacts a student academically.
Jocelyn Delgado, one of students at Forsyth Satellite, often comes late to school. Jocelyn said that, “being late to school is really a bad habit for myself. Being late to school prevents me from passing my classes or my attendance. Sometimes being late to school makes it hard for me to know what’s going on in the classroom.”
Lateness is not something that a student will want to do everyday because it can prevent that student from graduating, receiving awards, and joining school clubs. However, most students are late because of where they live and traffic. They also have to make an effort to wake up early to get ready to go to school earlier. Waking up early can be difficult for many students.
Furthermore, according to an article in Faculty Focus “Lateness is often a rude and disruptive form of behavior, especially when it is accompanied by doors opening and shutting, loud noises, and students distractingly passing in front of the instructor to get to their seats.”
Ultimately, students should not be late to school because their grades may decrease and being late can be disruptive and disrespectful.
